It received over 30 applications with up to 50 000 available. Funded by the department of energy and climate change bristol city council is undertaking an exciting programme of community energy activities across the city. Bristol energy network have been working with bristol city council and quartet community foundation to set up and run the bristol community energy fund there have been 5 rounds of the fund so far and after the first 3 rounds we carried out an evaluation of how well it has been working. The first round of bristol energy cooperative s megawatt community energy fund closed in september 2017. The bristol community energy fund is a bristol city council initiative with seed funding from the department of business energy and industrial strategy beis.
The community energy movement that we started in 2015 continues to grow and flourish adapting regularly to changes in policy and approach proving continually that bristol is a resilient city with an unyielding passion for its people.
